12 September 2007 - Inspection News!
It was a great inspection for Bonnie kids! Bonnie's son Lionwood Kinsale's Lad is now a fully approved RID stallion. We are so proud to have bred this lovely colt, who has faultless conformation, wonderful traditional breed type, superb movement and great character, receiving a score of "Excellent" for his temperament from the Irish inspectors. We look forward to following his performance career which already includes being crowned Reserve Overall Dressage Champion and Reserve Purebred Performance Champion for his excellent dressage scores at the 2007 National Show. All in all, Angus is a real credit to his dam Bonnie, whom we miss terribly. Congratulations to all of Angus' connections at Kinsale Farms!

Also gaining RID approval was Bonnie's granddaughter Lionwood Glimmerglass. Glimmer is Hermione's first approved daughter and Bonnie's second approved granddaughter. Described as "Brilliant" by inspectors Marily Power and Padraig Fitzpatrick, Glimmer impressed all with her wonderful temperament and movement. Glimmer also had a good show at Nationals, placing 2nd in the Purebred Two Year Old class and third in both the 2 y.o. Future Event Horse class and the large Purebred Dressage Prospect In Hand class. Congratulations to Glimmer's owner Martha - well done!

Last but not least, Bonnie's son Easter Rebellion was passed as an RID gelding. "Uncle Easter" is our riding horse and official babysitter, and a much loved member of our family. He has his work cut out for him this winter, with three weanling fillies to look after!

Today we bid our beautiful Glimmer a fond farewell. She is headed North to Michigan to be with her future paramour, the divinely bred Loguestown Blues Man R.I.D.. "Rocky" is the closest to a complete outcross RID stallion that we have in this country next to senior stallion Hangon Johnny, and he provides a Milestone-free source for the Blue Rajah/Blue Peter bloodline, with the additional bonus that he is from a strong mare line that has produced multiple RID stallions (3 stallions in 3 generations!) and RID mares. We are absolutely thrilled with Glimmer's new home, because she will also have the opportunity to have a performance career with her new owner Martha, who is an accomplished dressage and eventing trainer. Glimmer will eventually take up her role as herd matriarch at the Ballymore Stud. Bon chance Glimmer!
